Today I am going to be spotlighting a member of the phaunt forum. We have a bi-weekly Member of the Week spotlight, and I wanted to start showcasing some of those members here. The first brave soul is Christina (who also is a fabulous mod on the board)

So… here’s my mini “interview” with Christina, as well as some of her photography.

How did you get into Photography?

I started out taking photos of my kids with my point and shoot, and I really loved the outcome…I knew then, that I wanted to get an SLR and have my own business. My husband has been the one that had faith in me, and he dragged me to the store to get the camera, and then all of the wonderful stuff that goes with it. Haha!! And now, here I am! As soon as I learned the camera, and practiced enough, I just threw myself out there!

How would you describe your Style in 3 words:

Simple, real, casual

Your favorite Subject to Photograph:

People, for sure. Doesn’t matter what age, but I love capturing expressions, and feelings.

When you need to get inspired what do you do?

I search through Flickr, actually. There are some super talented photographers on there, and I just browse and get ideas!

Favorite Website(s) to waste time on:

Phaunt, of course (seriously not sucking up here…haha!!), Flickr, and a Military Spouse support site.

Favorite Photoshop Tool or tip:

I looooove masking!! Since I’ve learned this, life is much easier. I also love that I can hit Tab, and my menus disappear until I hit Tab again, and they all come back. This way I can see to the very edge of the photo when I’m zoomed in.

You’ve got $1000 and one day.. where do you go and what do you spend the $$ on?

This is hard. HARD. Hm…I guess I would go and buy myself CLOTHES. I rarely spend money on myself unless it’s business related. Other than that, it goes to the kids and bills!

I told you I’d get a tutorial up here soon! Here it is! I decided to keep it simple today, just doing some color pop/contrast adjustments and a quick action to go with it.
